I am trying to figure out why I can't get onto EDGE with my phone
do you guys have any indicator come on when you are connected to EDGE? I only have the [G] when I am connected to GRPS but it's supposed to get onto edge automatically when it senses it.... it never does

Mine says a G as well, but that doesn't mean that it isn't EDGE. Where EDGE is available, it will connect at EDGE speeds.
Run a speed test and see for yourself.
