I know seems like a dumb questions but this Palm OS is not what im used too im great with SYmbian which is so simple and User Friendly this OS has me bugging out i cant see a manager to install these files even to get inside the phone from the PC the PALM cd software has nothing to be able to do this like WM5 and Symbian..

The downloads folder might be on your memry card if you have one in your Treo.

A free file manager is FileZ which you can get here . Search for it, works great. Treos do not have one built in.

To get Java, you need the Palm/Java/Ibm Websphere. For Treo 650 owners, it is free, and lets you run Java apps.

did you try using the palm quick install. I had that same problem you had. but I used the palm quick install and worked fine I have a a couple java apps. as for apps try: voulume care, treogaurd or mring for mp3 ringers. tcmp player it play movies and its free. if you had windows before you know it as beta player. mobitv, pocketunes delux for streaming audio. and there a few bible readers. and you can get opera mini, since blazer is kinda slow. you should check out treocentral a lot of info there good luck

Thanks alot I appreciate your advice... i had to use file manager (FileProg) and i IR beamed the .jar files to my laptop and then install it using quick install...

I dont understand why they make things so difficult on Palm OS.As many of these phones that are sold more than any other phone i know and the price yet they cant make a Interface thats friendly its like working on WIndows 3.1 with F-Keys instead of a Mouse and actual windows..

The reboots on this phone are driving me sick...all the time after a hotsync it reboots and sometimes it turns off wireless phone and i dont realize till hours later that my phone's wireless antenna was off then i check and i have missed a ton of calls...

For a phone that so many people rave about its not very good for people like me that like to plug and play and maybe do some tweaks with the registry or OS you have to tweak stuff just to do normal stuff like install java apps or simple see whats in the phones memory card/internal memory..

What they should do is make a phone with The Blackberry 8700 form factor with that side wheel i love but with the Symbian60 OS.That would be my Dream phone.I guess a guy can Dream...
