Will these case fit the 8700r?

I am looking at the RIM Original Leather Holster, Product #: NHOL1035, $34.99 or the RIM Original Hydrofoam Pouches, Product #: NCAS1127 (blue), NCAS1128 (black), NCAS1129 (silver), $29.99.

Will these fit?

Nope. The 8700 has different dimensions.

Actually I just bought the horizonal case and it does fit. Its easy to slip in and the screen does turn off. But getting it out is a little harder.

No good if its too hard to get out...wouldn't you rather get something designed for the 8700?

Well, like my old Treo..it took me couple of cases before i settle...so, I am just sharing my experience on this..

This usually happens with brand new phones/PDA's/BB's, when the case makers have not had advanced copies or dummies to make a phone. Then, in those cases that they did have dummies, often an audio plug or something similar gets moved on the final release, messing things up.

Vaja Cases just came out for cases for the 7100G, V, T and R. But these are the only ones they have. (Pretty nice too, no magnet)

Rumor has it that a release by Piel Frama is about to happen. They also make quality cases.

Keep an eye on others like Bellagio and Krusell.

We have bought gizmoskin's 7100 cases off of ebay. Loved them.. Just started looking for a case for my new 8700 and found this post.

Anyways, thanks ordered 2! Will make my boss happy, also!

My Berry Patch case that was for a 7290 fits fine. But I really prefer to carry it "neked" with some e-grips that I picked up at Radio Shack to keep a grip on it.

I can't believe the lack of cases for the 8700. Especially from RIM. But I hear they're late with all cases for new devices. What's up with that?! When I bought my Apple Nano, they were the same way. I was all ready to buy a case but Apple didn't have any. Wouldn't it be a good idea to have accessories and cases available when a company launches a product?? Hmmm... I guess I'm just missing something there...
