Bell trying to screw me

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

When I recently signed up for a new Bell 3 yr contract, I was told I'd get per second billing and it states this on the agreement. I just got my first bill and it shows by the minute billing. I have talked to customer service three times and they say I can't have per second billing, they don't even offer it, and it was just a "misunderstanding".

I was on Telus before and had per second billing, and one of the main reasons I considered changing to Bell was the ability to get per second billing.

As Bell has change the terms of my agreement, I guess I can cancel without penalty. Although I'd rather they just honored the agreement as it was written.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks

I've never heard of Bell having per SECOND billing with Bell...on contract it should show something like Detail Billing without mentioning by minute/second though, right?

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Per second billing is offered on some rare corporate account. If you have a *contract* (not a flyer) clearly showing that you are supposed to have per second billing then yes, call CS. They will probably ask you to fax them a copy however.

People have never heard of Telus accounts having per second billing also but I have two!

Two of these
150 min by the sec
Unlimited EV & WE from 7pm
Unlimited Text Telus to Telus anywhere in N.A.
Unlimited Telus to Telus Calls anywhere in Canada with conference calling !
For the price of a Bell extreme.

Bell has good Data Prices but few Devices & Great Prepaid services!
Almost forgot K.Sousa & J. Boville ! (905) 282 **** are WHORRIBLE @ Customer Service.

Hi,
Thanks for the replies. In response to the above comments/replies,

- I do have a 3 yr. contract.

- I have faxed a copy to customer service a week ago, got on reply.

- I have talked to customer service 3 times now, but they keep denying per second billing is available for MY plan, but that it is available on some other plans, they don't seem to care that its written on my agreement.

- I was verbally told at Bell World store that my plan was per second billing, and I ensured that this was written on the contract before I signed.

- I had a Telus plan for 8 years that was per second billing

Thanks again

If you can prove you're entitled to per-second and weren't misled, you can "terminate for cause"...
Although unless like others have said, you're on a special plan, the likelihood of any store simply giving your per-second is not too good... Did you go to a franchise store or an actual Bell World?

I have a feeling that there is nothing that can be done to solve your problem with the per second billing. If your plan is a corporate plan you would already have per second billing. The store screwed up adding per second billing in writing.

Perhaps if CS added more daytime minutes and took an average of your usage it would compensate for the per second billing.

what plan are you on? Knowing your plan would eleviate alot of confusion

Hi,
Okay, my contract says:

Under "Rate Plan and Features"

"Plan: Corporate PCS PS 36Mth Srvc Agmt (F143_36)"

And under "Special Instructions"

Comments for Service Agreement:

"EPP 1 plan... per second as per indv/association"

I was told I was getting "per second billing", this is what I agreed to, this is what was written on the agreement, so why shouldn't I get it?

When I went into the store, (and I believe it is a corporate store, not a franchise) the sales agent offered me a phone and a 36mth agreement with a variety of features to suit my needs. I didn't ask about one particular plan or another. He simply asked about the features I was interested in, and said he had a package that met my needs.

By the way, what does "EPP" mean?

Thanks again.

EPP = Employee Purchase Plan

maybe they just have you under the wrong EPP plan.

Which EPP has per second billing?!?!

Posted by: CQD-dude

EP1 and F14 are 2 different and distinct plans.

EP1 is only offered to EPP corporate plans, they are billed by the minute, just like EVERY Epp plans.

F14 is a old corporate plan that can be offered to both EPP and INDV. If on a INDV they are usually charged by the second.

What I'm afraid your contract is saying is something like 'If you are on a INDV corporate account you will have per second billing'. So it does not states that you have per second billing but only that you WOULD be if you were on a INDV.

(p.s. EPP and INDV are only terms referring to the type of corporate account that you have, think diesel/gas or PC/Mac).

So it could mean that its a 'generic' Contract for all corporate account and states that you WOULD have per second billing if and only if you are activated using a INDV corporate account. Therefore meaning that you would NOT have per second billing on anything else.

Rule of thumb:

EPP= You are a EMPLOYEE related to you corporate account (ex: Bell, Future Shop, Air-Canada, Federal Gov etc)

INDV= You are MEMBER related to your corporate account (ex: CAA, professionnal regrouments etc)
