V3x for cingular

does anyone know when the V3x will be available for Cingular? I know it's UMTS, so it won't be coming out in the next 3 months, but could it possibly be out in 06 or do we have to wait a long time while people in the UK already have it.. and by the way vodafone gives its customers free mobiletv... wish cingular was that nice.

Well first they will have to make an Americanized version since currently it is EMEA Triband (900/1800/1900), then we can talk.

But it is still a Motorola so

We already know it is coming to Cingular since it was spotted at a motorola press conference with Cingular branding. Check out this link from Engadget

The V3i is quad-band, and has a 1.23 MP camera, but the V3x is tri-band(no 850 MHz for America) and 2.0 MP camera. It would have been good to just put together all the good stuff in one phone.

Don't forget that it's UMTS frequency is 2100 Mhz. Cingular is gonna be 850/1900 if I'm not mistaken.

i love the razr.. nice style nice camera good functioning.. its pretty much sweet. Not as MANY features that i liked about my Sony Ericsson Z500a, but it sucked. Although i will miss recording my own ringtones..

I think Mr. bodeh6 is refering to the Moto OS and/or UI, which has had little or no enhancement since it was first developed. Moto has also had its fair share of h/w problems...remember the original v600, which Cingular had to recall?

The RAZR is a great peice of h/w but w/o the s/w it's just an expensive paper weight. Slap WM5, a Symbian OS or even SE's OS & UI in there and it would be a much better device.

Moto sucks because of their software.

I have my sources. Motorola was at the top of the list for cell phones. Next was either samsung or nokia.

I use cellphones by every company, so I'm certainly no fanboy. I will say this, however, just because a product sells well that doesn't mean it's the best. I might be comparing apples to oranges here, but take the Nintendo DS for instance. It outsells the PSP worldwide and even out sold the PS2 in Japan this year. In no way is the DS better technology than the PSP or PS2, but it's currently outselling them both in Japan and outselling the PSP worldwide. Why? It's all about the games. When it comes to technology, design, and multimedia function, plus share "wow factor," the PSP has it beat (hands down). Still, even the Gameboy Advance outsells the PSP. Why? Games again. It also has to do with pedigree and Nintendo s name is synonymous with mobile gaming and games in general. One can say the same is true for Moto and cell phones. With the RAZR, there are many factors as to why is sells so well, and it's not because it has the technology, design, implementation of features, camera, or multimedia capabilities. Initially, it sold because of the "wow factor." Moto also did a clever job of marketing it. Add to all this Moto's brand recognition. I could list many other factors, but my point is simple: best selling doesn't equal best product. Besides, we first have to decide what "best" means: best reception, because design, best Bluetooth implementation, best UI, etc.

That's not what I'm saying. I got a product list and Motorola was at the top of the list. I'm just passing the information along.

Okay whats you're point? It was the #1 sold phone. That has nothing to do with I was saying. I was stating that motorola was at the top of the cellphone product list, thats all. Me saying the razr is the #1 sold phone and motorola being at the top of the list is 2 totally different topics I was on.

I hate to question one's reading comprehension skills, but you should read what you write. You plainly stated, as I quoted in the response above, that the RAZR is better, why else would it be the #1 selling? Either you are asking a rhetorical question or you are stating your opinion, which is that since it is the #1 selling phone, then it's the better phone. Opinions are fine, but they should, at the very least, be formed from some experienced with the products being compare/mentioned. I own/used all the phones mention: the RAZR, W600i, etc. Like I said in my first response, I use phones from every company. Still, if your only point is to mention that the RAZR sells well, then it has no relevance to the topic. If you wish to discuss a phone by phone comparison, rather than sales figures, then we might be headed in the right direction. I am not the only person who has stated that the RAZR is good for one reason. Your only argument is that it sells well. If you want to talk about a phone, then let us do that. Lets talk about features, UI, implementation of features, multimedia capabilities, reception, usability, etc. You're the one who first mentioned sales figures as a rebuttal to someone else. I was just pointing out that sales figures are meaningless to any discussion about whether a phone is any good or not. I am not sure if you've ever heard the saying, but a million people can be wrong. Now, if you still feel offended by what I just said, then I am at a lost. You could always put me on your ignore list. I won't feel offended in any way.

I'm not offended by what you say. I also use phones from every company so I know what I'm talking about k? I was simply stating my opinion, that's all. And you as well can put me on your ignore list if you feel you need to question my OPINIONS! We are here to talk about the phones which one is better in your opinion. If they cared that much, they would talk to their sales rep., not ask people with their own opinions of the phone. I'm not one to fight, so how about we just go on and give the person what they asked for, our opinions on which is better/which one too get.

If you are really serious about this, you should talk to your sales rep, and ask them what phone they recommend as well, they know a thing or 2 about them. But in my opinion, the RAZR would be what I would go with. Just because it fits my style more.

Could have sworn this thread was about whether or not the V3x not V3I was going to be available. I was hoping that the V3x would come along but it doesn't look it.

but i can def see that motorola is at the top for sales...i mean they have a wide selection for cingular and people like their designs.
all i see around anymore are v180's, razr's, and v551's.

but i think what people are saying is that #1 sales doesn't always mean #1 in customer satisfaction or #1 in quality.
