I'm having the same issue as the Cingular user. Can receive text messages but unable to send, use the browser, or the voicemail feature holding the 1 button down. When I scroll down from the phonebook to call my voicemail, i keep getting this symbol after i listen to my messages. @ I can't get mms, wap, email, or anything else working for that matter. Anyone that has a Sharp 902 with T-Mobile have any of these working? Could anyone please share some of the settings to help me out? Thanx synthboy

if you use T-mobile, go to tmobile section in this forum. and select one of stickies saying tmobile configurator or something. click the link in the first post and it will bring you to tmobile website. follow the instruction there and select your phone as nokia 7610 (since 902sh is not listed or supported "officially") A message will send to your phone if you do it right.

For MMS, just simply apply the setting, it works perfectly.

For wap, apply the setting and go to your internet setting and make a duplicate profile of tmobile gprs (b/c it will not allow you to edit the original setting, but you can do that with the new/duplicate one) Then make some neccessary changes according the setting posted by others in tmobile forum.

the message/icon you received after voicemail retrieval is normal (I'd not say it is normal, but i don't think it can be fixed. don't quote me on that though, since i am still using the 1.02 HK version. newer version might remove that "bug") it doesn't happen with 903sh though.

in order for you to press 1 to call voicemail, you need to manually put in your voicemail number in your phone (message->setting->voicemail, can't remember the order )

BTW, since i don't have my 902 with me right now, i can't really give you any more details. just post it here if you have questions.

I've tried the settings but i'm still not able to browse, text messages, so if anyone can provide me the settings or the configurations step by step including the network system would be very helpful. Not sure what the settings should be for the network. Originally this phone was configured for cingular. i'm not sure if i have to configure the network settings also. any advice or suggestions would be greatful. I do appreciate the link to the mobile site but i was unable to receive a message to my phone. thanx.

the setting for 903sh is given in this thread.
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=793454
the bottom line is if you see anything listed in those settings can apply to 902sh, put them in. Otherwise, ignore it. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO MAKE SURE YOU CONFIRM (SET) THE SETTING AFTER YOU PUT IN ALL THE FIELDS.

if your phone is originally configured to use cingular, delete all the wap profiles associated with cingular first.

Keep trying using the web configurator and the method i mentioned. Sometimes you have to try several times before the setting message arrives. hint: try after midnight, it always works for me. i guess the system traffic is slow during that time.

btw, regarding txt message, have you ever subscribed to txt message services yet? if you do, message->setting->txt/sms setting and put in your message center number 12063130004.

I'm sorry, but I can't seem to get that automatic one to work for me, and I can't get the E-mailing to work. can anyone give me a hand please. If they could just type out what the settings they have, when they got theirs to work that would be great.

Thanks

if you can't get the tzone/mobile web working with tmobile, your email obviously won't work either because it uses gprs/wap to retrieve your email. so work out your wap problem first.

I was able to manually enter those, and I was able to get to their t-zone home page, I also set it so that the phone would use those profiles, and put the wap.myvoicestream.com address in for the relay server url. It still won't send email though, so just to make sure I was wondering if somone would be able to just take the time to go through each of the settings under the Connectivity--->Internet Settings and list what values they have for Application, Proxy, Access Point.

I follwed the settings that were on the link, but for connecting on the network, it always asks me to purchase the Tmobile web package, which I have, and for the MMS/Email it keeps saying message has an unknown problem.

Thanks

are you using gmail? i don't think the build-in email client can handle gmail since gmail uses SSL for security purposes and 902sh doesn't have that implemented. don't quote me on that though since i don't use build-in client to retrieve emails

I don't play my 902sh that as often as before (as well as my 903sh, got bored with them. w900i baby! ) so i have to take a look tonight before answering your Qs.

btw, if you use yahoo mail (wap.oa.yahoo.com) or gmail (m.gmail.com), use their wap version is easier. just my 2c.

Looks like I edited my post as you were responding. But right now it keeps complaining that I need to purchase the 5.99 plan, but I will call them on that. But the automatic configurator, doesn't send the phone a message.

Typical tmobile stuff! it taaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaakes 24 hours to activate your 5.99 plan. anyway, can you go to wap.oa.yahoo.com? if you can, that means you r good to go. if not, wait or call their CS and demand for service that you r paying right now

regarding the configurator, like i said earlier try to do it at midnight or later of the night as traffic is slow. Although my MMS setting is correct installed, mms doesn't go through each time. Sometimes i have to try couple times. BTW, did you activate that particular MMS profile (a check mark should be next to the profile name)?

Posted by: cewong2

yes I did activate it, it doesn't work still, I've tried the auto config many times, Tech Support has even tried and it didn't work.

the yahoo site doesn't work either just goes back to the buy me page.

Call t mobile and ask for tech support tier 3 or level 3 for unsupported devices they walked me through and got everything working in 10 minutes
