sry i cant find my other topic i created awhile back ... but i am back...

i have a 256mb card... i have about 20 songs on there right now... well.. i did...

i had my mp3 player workin great until i formated my card in the phone and now it says no songs on memory... i also try to plug it in my computer and i try to delete some songs because i dont want tehm on there and it says access denied card is in use or somethin like that so i cant delete the songs and some titles are to logn so when i try to shorten them it says that the song has a license on it or somethin so i cant change it until i turn it off?

how do i delete my songs off my card

umm...formatting erases all data on the card. What you have to do is put it in the computer, format the card again, and then reload your songs. I don't have an 8100, but you may be able to format the card in your phone again and transfer songs over USB using BitPim. If you're talking a 3rd-party mp3 player you're going to have to format in the computer and transfer songs whichever way your mp3 player supports.

yea i put the card back in the computer and it was blank... we have a problem now tho...

i try to load the songs back onto the card and all my songs didnt transfer over it just said it had an error and it couldnt be transfered because it was copywritten or whatever.. it was all fine before this so what did i push to make it copywritten ?

No. Do not use the computer to reformat the card. You need to use the phone to reformat the card.
Settings and Tools -> System -> Manage Memory -> Card Memory -> Options (right soft key) -> Format card.

Once formatted by the phone you can then put it in the computer and place the songs in the MY_MP3 folder (do not use subdirectories and keep the file names short and simple.....no special characters).

don't bother transferring the songs via Bitpim (it is extremely slow).

Buckeyes,
are you sure it is saying "copyrighted" and not "Write protected"? If it is saying "Write protected", check the little lock switch on the side of the SD card adapter.... this switch will write protect the card and is easy to flip by accident.

Can you please post the exact file name of the songs you are having trouble with?

Also, do the songs show up and just not play? Or do they just not show up period?

I need this information before I can tell you what the exact problem is.
Thanks.
