Is there such a thing as a BB email address?

Ok I did a dumb thing and posted this in the headsets forum, thought this would be the appropriate place to ask.

I use my BB currently with our Exchange server using BES.

I was wondering if there is a BES independent email address that I can use it with. (like how for text messages your email is <cell#>@txt.bellmobility.com)

If someone knows what that is and can point that out I would greatly appreciate it. I have a Bell 7250 BB. (assuming it'd be something like <cell#>@blackberry.bellmobility.com)

Thanks in advance.

YES. The first part of the addy before the @ is what ever you or yuor BES admin wants it to be. I don't use BES but BIS. I use BIS thru nextel and there is where I set mine up. Since your on a BES the setup might me a little different. martin or pink will hopefully chime in and help clarify for us.

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 7520.|: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry7100i/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/103)

Like at says, you can set up another "account" through Bell Mobilities BIS/BWC (see your providers web page for info on this). You can choose your username for this account when you set it up, and it would be just like you described...username@bellmobility.blackberry.net (or something very similar to that).

As mentioned above, you need to configure it first.

The webclient address for Bell is https://webclient.blackberry.net/We...e=en&debug=null

And the email address format is email@bell.blackberry.net

^^ Thanks jase, I didn't have that info for my post....

Also for BB to BB messaging, you can just use the device PIN.

No worries...glad to help.

Just go to the webclient and click on "create new account". Follow the prompts from there.

Note - a BES can promulgate a policy restricting the ability of a device attached to the BBES to be used with BWC/BIS. (They can also turn off PIN2PIN)
