VM Silder V5 SE44 - Am I doing this right?

I just got a Virgin Mobile Slider V5 (SE44) I thought it would be the SE47,
So After I checked out the threads about the Approved SE47 cables - I went to Radio Shack and picked up the "Future Dial" Data cable for the LG 1200, VX6000 (Cable 19) Has the "Lump" in the middle.

I used this thread to set up the software:

http://www.howardforums.com/showthr...&highlight=se47

Downloaded the USB Drivers as in the post by Jbibbs instructed
Download the Bitpim 0.8.04 (Bitpim 0.7 beta was available at that time but I can't find a link to it now and I'd asume the more current version is suitable)

I installed the drivers and the computer detected them as prolific drivers and set the Phone up as LG 5350

Installed Bitpim 0.8.04 selected "Other CDMA" phone and it decected it on Com 4

But when I goto Get phone info Its all greyed out

Under file system it does come up with some Directories (but to me they are giberish)

I will point out that I haven't activated it yet on VM it was still partially charged when I tested it and wanted to make sure it had a full charge before I switched my VM account over from my Current phone (Audio Vox 8500)

would that cause a problem or is something else required.

SE44 isnt supported by bitpim so you can only use the filesystem view. It looks really complicated but id you read a few of the tutorials that have been posted lately its easy once you get the hang of it.

I ended up finding older versions of Bitpim 0.7.27 allows me to "View" the files system and save stuff off the phone, But I don't see how I could get anything on the phone from the file system....
