Question about buying phones wholesale

I was curious as to where people are getting all these phones wholesale. I'd love to pick up a Panasonic GD87 and I don't want to wait until Q1 2003 for AT&T to bring it out. I see all these phones for dirt cheap, brand new on Ebay, but people are making a killing off them and I know they are getting them wholesale. One guy I emailed said he was getting his phones wholesale from HK. I have checked in HK and most prices I can find are still more expensive then I think people are getting them for (I may be wrong).

Some examples:

Nokia 7210 US$270.00
Panasonic GD87 US$300.00
Samsung S105 US$270.00

All of these are prices are for phones that are brand new and unlocked.

If anyone could shed some light on this phenomenon or perhaps clue me in on where to look for some wholesale phones I'd really appreciate it.
