PEBL U6 Initial Setup Problem

Having replaced my V600 with a PEBL U6 I thought that I'd apply some of the seem edits to seem 0032-0001 using P2kMan to enable a few extra options. All was ok until I applied a revised version of the seem and lost access to the Settings>Initial Setup option. The option is on the screen but won't open up. I replaced the modified seem with a copy of the original but I still can't access the Initial Setup menu option. I checked in the Security>Application Lock option to see if the option was somehow locked but it 'ain't.

Any thoughts other than returning the handset to the supplier and acting dumb(er than I already am)?

Did you reflash the phone yet? That should take care fo your ills...if you need flash file PM me with e-mail addy and I will get it to you...

I have somehow solved the problem with a Master Reset thanks.

I'm not sure how well the PEBL works with P2kMan as whilst it can communicate with the phone you can't bring up the file list properly. I have the same issue with MotoKit as well. I can see the files with Total Commander but only the 'a' folder stuff (I've read somewhere that the PEBL has a 'c' folder as well where the majority of the files reside).

Also, the seems edits do not work exactly the same on the PEBL as they do on the V600. This may be a flash/flex thing but I have noticed that the 0032-0001 seem for the PEBL shows in P2kMan and MotoKit as 516 bytes whereas the equivalent V600 seem shows as 255 bytes. Strange.

I'll PM you with my email address as it would be useful to have the flash file for when I really make a mess of things

p2ktools and p2kae work well, p2kcommander is a little flakey on xp pro sp2.
menueditor wont work nor will seemplayer !!

I stuck with the software as is for now, unless someone's got a good one
for the U6 ;-) (intrepid ??)

The size issue you've seen has been spotted by the guy who wrote menu
editor - he's working on a re-write for the newer phones/software.
