I dont know where to begin but i need some help please..
I used josh's method to get some ringtones on my phone. I followed his steps to get 155 ringtones on the phone without the mini sd card. I put a few on there and added some more, the few i had put on before was replaced with the new ones.
So i hooked the phone back up to the computer via data cable and i was trying to clear my ringtones off of the phones memory, so i deleted the /ring directory that josh's steps tell us to make and i made a new /ring directory. When i did this, my ringtones on i had added to my phone showed up in the list but wouldnt play for the most part except for a few. So then i deleted the /ringtone.dat file and rebooted the phone to clear all of those files out of my My Ringtones folder so just the original ringtones were in there...
i checked my ringtone memory after doing all of this and it says 76% full..for my ringtones it says 0K, and for my sounds it says 1.52mb (just random stuff i recorded ) so im guesssing i did all that for nothing and those ringtones are still on the phone somehwere.
i dunno how to delete them, on josh's instructions it says after i go to the ring directory and right click and restore the zip folder, that im supposed to go to the /dload folder right click and overwrite...so where would that put my ringtones at so i can delete them from the phones main memory?
Now whenever i try to add ringtones using josh's trick without the minisd card, i get up to the part where i zip the mp3s and the dat file together then go to the ring directory and click on restore, it goes through the process for about 5 ringtones and gives me an error message that the phone is having problems while manipulating the file system and im stuck right there...
can anybody help me out with any of this, im basically lost and confused as to how to delete the ringtones from the phones memory and why my phone wont take anymore ringtones when i go to restore files in the ring directory
any help is appreciated
