Okay, here we go again. I've wanted to post this for a few days but have not had the chance. Thanks to the brillant folks over at MotoModders, I've been able to unlock my v635 quite easily.

Steps:

1) I downloaded the bootloader on my v635 prior to this procedure, so I am unsure if it works with the stock or newer bootloaders. I am running 07D0. If you want to downgrade your bootloader first (this is what worked for me), flash it using RSD lite or PST - here is a link to 07D0:

2) I should also mention that I believe an Unlocked Flex is required for this to work. So if you have not already flashed your Locked stock firmware to an unlocked/unbranded MonsterPack - now is the time if you want to continue. I can't confirm this, but it's what I've read. I was running 6FR unlocked monster pack when this worked for me.

3) Highly recommend making a complete backup as well as PDS backup using Flashbackup. There is a great tutorial on how to do this by djnick located here:

4) Now for the actual procedure - which is extremely simple... You need to find Final.exe program. I can probably post a link to it, but I'm not sure so I won't. If you have trouble finding it, PM me. Once you have Final.exe, follow these steps:
a) Turn Off your phone
b) Plug in your phone to USB cable
c) Start up phone in BL mode (hold * & # and then Power on)
d) Open Final.exe
e) Press the button (the only button the program has...)
f) It will give you some message - click Yes. Then you will see the status go to SUCKsesfull and Done!
g) Reboot

Your Done. You should now have an unlocked v635. Verify with software or another Carrier's SIM. Post your success stories.

Thanks for this overview! I helped test the first methods for unlocking V330s using PDS backups, and I'm glad to see the method is being modified for other phones. Power to the people!

My next hope is the V360! I'll do some research with this method, and see if it can be used on the V360, since it does bear some similiarity to the V635.

Final exe, motorola unlocker 2005. Chafken is it? they are one , just different look and name

yeh just comfirming it that it does work...on the way home from school poped in this girls fido sim and it started up....too bad she used up all her minutes so i couldnt test a call...but it didnt ask for a subisity password so yeh it work

eh scope...im going to just send that v551 into the shop at rogers...and they will fix it some how im sure...

Mines already unlocked. But this would be useful for new phones I buy. Tmobile wants me to sign another contract, which I haven't in years. They are basically throwing phones at me.

I was gonna grab a few for christmas presents seeing how I just got my V635 from the internet.

Phone in question is the V360. Any success?

I don't have a 360 to test on, but it is similar. Phideaux mentioned he was going to do some research, but I haven't heard anything yet.

I haven't had a chance to really give it a try yet on my v360. I need to figure out why Flashbackup isn't creating full backups, I'm not willing to push too hard until I can make full backups...

i just tried to on my v600 (at&t locked), (dumb move?) but all the steps were succesfull, even Final.exe said "done"

But when i put my cingular sim into it, it asks for a subsidary password, :'(

I don't know about the v600 with this process. Other's have sucessfully unlocked v600 using this post (refer to post #6)

cool - check the last few posts on that thread as they deal with v600 specifically. Appears to be some differences in success dependant on firware version

it tells you how to read the subsidary Code (i dont mean to hijack this thread) but, i dont know what program he's using either, but it looks promising :-D

He is using PST. If you have an unlocked phone, this is a way to get the lock code in case you ever lock it again by a mistaken flash...

I found one finally (spanish web site, I think).

The file is 701K and it says its for the V80/V220/E38/C450/C550/C650.

And in the task bar , the description is "HA - HA :-)".

Is this the file I should use ?

incorrect the final.exe that says it unlocks everything but a v635 unlocks it, downgrade bootloader and put into bootmode and run the program then restart phone

Hi, I didnt need the old bootloader or a monster pack.

I just backed up the phone and executed final.exe and it worked.

what bootloader version is on your V635? My V360 is 08.A0, can I just flash it to 07.D0?

Since I unlocked my V635 (6FR) , I always have the green roaming triangle.

I aim also getting many 50 cents adjustment fees for unknow reasons (using prepaid from Fido).

Anyone knows how to fix this ?

Although the phone appears to not be going into bootloader mode - it is. Try using the Final anyhow, and see....

Apparently, those 50 cents had nothing to do with my phone (weeeeee). Since they couldnt find the reason why I was getting these fees, they gave me a new phone number and everything is fine now.

i see that your provider is rogers, was your v635 rogers branded? and if so what firmware were u running, i might give this a try on mine.

thats the only downfall to the 07do bl you cabt see the screen....turn off phone and plug into pc....then * # power for bl mode...you will here bing bong then u will know it is in bl mode...good luck

Hello everyone, I've done some extensive reading/research and have found a program to mod my v635i GSM Phone. I am currently using the following configurations:

Carrier: Rogers
SW: R474_G_08.48.93R
FLEX: MOTOinmovement_02
Bootloader: 08.21

PROBLEM: I run the software for my phone and it comes up with an error saying that it cannot connect with my phone after step 4 of 5 steps. I have come to the conclusion that it may be caused by my bootloader exceeding that of the software I am running. To add to this, I am unable to back up my phone using FlashBackup 2.5 or 2.61. Overall, I would like to know if it is possible/safe for me to downgrade my bootloader to say 0.7D, use my software, and then go back to 08.21?

Any insight or help is greatly appreciated.
