Why do so many people feel that it is necessary to publicly announce things that would be better said in a PRIVATE MESSAGE?

If you think that the asking price is too high, PM the seller. Otherwise you effectively kill any change he/she has of getting that price from someone who thinks it is fair. If you know of somewhere else to buy an item cheaper, go there and buy it instead of trying to hurt someone's asking price in their own thread!

If you have a question, try to PM the seller. Some questions may be fair to post, but it is generally better to use private messaging for this as well.

...and if you want to make an offer, do it privately! Especially those of you who like to offer unreasonably low sums because you have a sob story. I feel for you but I don't want to donate to your "cause."

If you were trying to sell your house I'm sure you wouldn't want people standing in your driveway pointing out better deals elsewhere. If you don't like what the seller is doing, don't buy. Vote with your wallet and they will catch on.

I hope this doesn't seem harsh. I'd just like to have things get a little cleaner before they get nasty...
I just think this is fair. In the main Buy/Sell/Trade section on Howardforums nobody other than the creator of the thread can reply, and this has been done to stop what happens here regularly. You are forced to PM or email and it keeps that forum much cleaner.
