Hello all. What a great site...my wife and I read on here a lot before deciding on her new phone and plan and we finally went with Sprint and the New 6700 a couple of days ago.
We are having a few problems though....we can't seem to find where to DL ringtones and we are having a REALLY hard time trying to figure out how she can read her AOL emails.
Can anyone help out with this? Sprint CS has NOT been very helpful and their website is of no help at all to us.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
B

Hi there,
with the Ring Tones, you use the Active Sync to transfer ring tones to a directory on the phone (took me a little bit to figure out too). THere is a Directory \Windows\Ringers if you plave them in there you can access them.
I don't know about the other one though. I've seen third party application like Web IS Mail (http://www.pocketinformant.com) they make a pretty full featured mail client. If Aol has POP mail access to the email then you cna probably find the server names off AOL. or give that client a try.
Hope that helps.

look at this post that I had started a few days ago

additionally to check you AOL e-mail
set up a new pop account in the phones outlook... use pop.aol.com and smtp.aol.com. the domain can be left blank and use your screename and pswd as normal.

Thanks, she now has mail, but she can't visit the AOL site like she does from home. The site keeps saying she needs an updated version of Explorer. With darn AOL, your favorites and other things are all on the site I think. I'm a dsl yahoo guy, so it would be easier for me. That mobile AOL is a joke....just a couple lines of text. We're slowly learning this thing. All I know is that my brother came up from FL and showed me his new Nextel phone, sorry, not sure what it was, but in a couple of seconds we had it talking to my Fujitsu Tablet PC via bluetooth and I was surfin the web using his phone. I spent an hour on my wife's 6700 tonight and still don't have it connected.

You could use Minimo, which is a version of Firefox for the Pocket PC. Its horribly slow, but it does work with sites that use webservices (XmlHttp).
Version .011 and greater works with the PPC6700
