SP5 & Cingular vs. AT&T

One thing I've noticed on my SP5 is that the current cellular provider is always listed as Cingular, even when I know I'm on an AT&T tower.

My SMT5600 would display 310410 instead of Cingular, but this registry change fixed that problem:
Change 310410 to Cingular:
goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/RIL/OperatorNames
Click Values
Click Menu|New Value|String
Value Name = 310410
Value Data = Cingular

Now it seems this has been reversed with the SP5, with 310410 / Cingular displaying properly, but 310380 / AT&T displaying as Cingular. I've tried the registry change using 310380 / AT&T, but it still displays as Cingular. It's got to be in there somewhere! I've searched the registry, but I don't see anything obvious. Does anyone have any suggestions?

BTW, the SP5 is fantastic!!

I've got the same problem with mine. My Qtek 8310 displays two "Cingular" networks and it's hard to figure out which network the phone is on. I can't even edit the registry! =( It says access denied.

Is there a way to fix this?

EDIT:
I forgot the 8310 is application locked. After unlocking it I made the required operator name changes and everything is working! =)

You might want to go ahead and add an entry for Cingular (310410). Go ahead and put in "310410" as the value name and "Cingular Wireless" as the value data. The next time you do a network search you should most likely see "Cingular" and “Cingular Wireless". Now, you'll be able to figure out which network you want to register on.

Yeah I had noticed that adding an alternate name for 310410 works....but why won't it work for 310380???? For the life of me I can't figure this out. Seeing Cingular Wireless for Cingular is a solution, but I would still rather see AT&T for AT&T, instead of Cingular!

How did you unlock the 8310?
