first of all "I" have searched and didnt find what i am looking for.. Either it was burried in tons of helpful info and i just missed or i just missed it all together.

My question is, does anyone have a "How to" guide on how to get rid of the motorola flower that shows up on startup. I hate that thing.. I have changed the startup music, the shut down music and the goodbye animation. But cant figure out how to remove that damn flower..

Thanks for ant help.

J.

Get rid of the banner and greeting messages. This worked for my 815.

I have never seen your MP's. Are they for a V600?

there is no seem edit to change it besides the orange/purple one.....you can not delete it unless you alter the drm in the flash...and at that you have to have one.

You asked: how to get rid of the motorola flower that shows up on startup.

removing the banner and greeting messages from your phone also removed the (FLOWER) startup animation and activated the one I installed. By installing a new "customer_opening.gif" file of your choice from a SKIN, you can replace crappy flower one and use one from a skin file like the cool one in the XPBlue_v5.0 skin.

nacnack, If i understand u correctly, i go into the phone and add a file called "customer_opening.gif" in the root directory and it will automatically replace what is selected by Motorola (the flower). The files that i have replace in the past were :"custwakeup.gif" and "custgoodbye.gif". The custgoodbye file works on shutdown but the custwakeup doesnt work at pwr up. I will try what u said and let u know how it turns out.

There is a tutorial on my site about p2ktools, with that program you can change your startup and shutdown without any seemedits or anything its just a simple BROWSE to file and click save, however the flower will not change unless you make your own DRM pack. a customwakeup you will see the flower and then an animation of your choice.

Hook up the phone to the computer. Start Bitpim or PK2C. Go to Motorola, then Shared, then Picture folder.

You should replace the customer_opening.gif file in there. I use either BITPIM or PK2 Commander.
