Problem with V3c and Acura HandsfreeLink

Having some troubles with my V3c and Acura HandsfreeLink...

First, when I try to pair the phone with the car, I get to the part where the car asks me for a name for the phone. I hit the HFL button and give it a name. Then the car and phone quit the setup. I should get a response like "Razr" phone successfully setup after I give it a name of "Razr", but it just ends the setup. I have to retry the pairing process numerous times before it accepts a name for the phone. Anyone else have this problem??

Second problem... When I try to use HFL through the car to dial into voice mail, the phone bugs out when I try to send my password. I use to be able to dial *86, and then SEND my password when I connect to voice mail. So once I connect to VM, the VWZ women says, "Please enter your password and hit #." I use to be able to hit the HFL button on the car and say my password, append a # to it, and hit the HFL button again, and hit send. Worked perfectly on my V710. Now, with the Razr, once I connect to voicemail and she asks for my password, I hit the HFL button, say my password, then hit the HFL button again, say SEND, and all I get back is a tone, like someone had their finger on a button. Just a loud tone, and I can't stop it until I hang up HFL and disable the Bluetooth device on the phone. Then to get the phone to see HFL again, I have to go into device history and select HFL and agree to sync with it.

I know this is a lot and a particular problem, but if anyone else out there has a V3c and an Acura with Bluetooth capability, please try and see if you can get into your voicemail using the method I describe above. If anyone has questions about the method I am describe, shoot me a PM or ask in a reply and I'll try to explain in further detail exactly what I am doing.

Unfortunately, I don't think you will be able to help unless you have a V3c and an Acura with HFL. This seems to be a very specific problem. Thanks in advance to everyone for their help...

bump... Anyone? Please?

I am having the same issue too. I called the Acura HandsFreeLink line and they said they are still testing the phone for compatibility so they could not help.

I bought my Acura 2 weeks ago and my phone last week. I'd hate to return the phone but it looks like this is a problem for every Acura/V3C combo. Does anybody know of a workaround??

Just to calrify, I only have the problem when I try to "Send" other digits. This is only necessary when you are trying to punch numbers in at a voice prompt answering service, like voice mail. So I can't do that for now. And if I need to, I "Transfer" the call to the handset and I'm ok.

I used to be able to do this with my V710 so not sure why I can't with the V3c. If anyone knows how to get this working please let us know. Thanks!

I have same problem. Still looking for solution. V3c works well until I send extra digits, then it locks up with high pitch sound. Must restart phone to use.

My guess is that they will determine that this phone is not compatible w/ HF Link. I returned my V3C and bought an E815. Except for the extra-fatness, the E815 is a better phone anyway. It has Vibe+Ring w/out a hack, and it's easy to configure it for DUN. It also doesn't have the Verizon UI.

Here is the answer I received from AcuraLink tech support:

Thank you for your patience. The issue you are experiencing is a known
issue with early software versions of this phone. You will need to ask
Verizon for an upgrade to correct this issue.

Please contact me with additional questions.

I don't have an Acura or a Razr, but on my E815, I have changed the voicemail contact so that after *86 there is a pause, and then it types in my password automatically, complete with the # key. You can probably do this as well.

Has anyone gotten the update? Did it fix the HFL problem? Thanks!

Here's the updated answer I received quoting the source-

Hello,

When Verizon releases the software, they may change the name slightly. The
01.14 software is what is needed. If Verizon has not released this
software, then there is nothing we can do. You may ask Verizon when the
next maintenance release for the V3c is expected.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Sincerely,
