Just saw this and checked it out - an upgrade for the system software of the 2125;

http://www.htcamerica.net/support/software_updates.htm

I haven't installed it yet and it doesn't say what is fixed/changed in this release.

Good find, but I'm too scared to do it. I wonder what it does, I wish they would tell you.

I agree - there is no explanation about the upgrade - no version number or list of bug fixes or enhancements

Wirelessly posted (Omega - The final word.: HTC-2125/1.2 Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows CE; Smartphone; 176x220))

is anyone going to give the update a try?

Makes me wonder if they know about the hole found for unlocking the device....

Holy Cow Batman! I had already found a few bugs and I figured it would be a cold day in hell before I saw a ROM upgrade for this thing. Merry Christmas to me.

I'm about to do it. I'll get back to you guys

Well that was fruitless. First, the readme.doc file seems to be missing (or at least the readme button of the installer is broken; I'll need to dig into that a bit more).

Worse, the according to the update app, my phone already has the latest firmware. The updater says it's going to blow version 1.8.42.14 into the ROM. You can find out which version you have by going to the System Information under Settings.

Still, it's good to see that we won't necessarily have to wait for Cingular to get support for this device.

Do you think there is a change that an unbranded version will appear? The phone works great with my ATTWS sim.

Hmm. In my System Info it shows my ROM version as 1.0.9.0 and my OPERATOR version as 1.8.42.14. What's the OPERATOR version?
