V3 Menu changing

I've just got a Pink Vodafone (UK) V3 and was going trying to add the Video camera option into the Multimedia Menu. The problem is that when I edit the Menu files files directly or via P2KMenueditor and save to the phone, after a reboot, my changes are lost.
Is there something I need to do before making these changes. I'm not aware of anything and I haven't seen anything in other posts I've read.

If you are not going to flash you need to do a few seem edits. Have a look here and scroll to the bottom of the page to 'Seem Discoveries by MotoX.'
