Black or Silver MPX220?

I'm looking to buy the mpx220 and I'm hoping some of you could help me out. Would you recommend the black or silver version? Was the black a limited edition model or just as plentiful as the silver? I really like both so I'm just hoping some of you could help persuade me towards one of them. Also, I think I read somewhere that the black one has a different feel/texture to it than the silver one, is this true? I'd appreciate any of your suggestions...thanks

I am in the US and owned a Black MPX220. About 3 months after owning the phone it needed reapirs from Motorola. However, I was lucky to get Motorola to repair it because the Black version is European model. And they dont support the Black model in the US! It is my wife's phone and after seeing both the Silver really is a much classier, professional looking phone.

yes i do like the silver too,the problem is that u said that the black version in european version,i did see only black ones here in Romania,so it seems that i am getting the black on after all!!
anyway both og them are ok,but as dwest said, that the silver one has much more class!

I like the black model which really isn't black at all but rather a very dark redish- brown, so be advised. I find it to be more discreet and less flashy than the silver which is why, I think, it is more popular in Europe and was made to be sold there. I also think the bright blue LED keypad lighting looks better shining through and around the dark keys rather than the silver. It offers more of a contrast and is more visible. Just my opinion. To each his own.

Wow, I didn't realize the black one was more of a reddish-brown color. From all the pics I've seen it really looks black to me. I'm still confused as to which one I should get because I really like both! Color aside, the features and operations should be identical on both, correct? Just asking because you guys are saying the black one is basically a european model and I'm in the US. Thanks for your responses so far...

Im thinking about switching the housing on my mpx 220 to a black one. Anyone done it? And was it hard or easy?

The Motorola Representative wasn't specific about where it was supported in Europe but basically if it is being sold by a carrier in that country then I guess it is supported.

When the mpx220 is placed side by side with a true black phone, you can immediately tell it's not really black.

A great photo Holishi. One picture is truly worth a thousand words! It's color is, as the Parisians would say, more Aubergine or eggplant. This should settle the question about the "Black" MPx220 really being black.

Thanks for the pic, that really clears things up for me. Looks like I'll go with the silver becuase the black one is not a true black color....that was a deal-breaker for me.
