Best way to backup

I have a PEBL, Flash Backup does not recognize the phone so it refuses to create a backup.
What is the best way to backup the phone before I start mucking with it?

With something so new, you sure you want to mess around with it? Have you tried FLash Backup v1.5? SmartMoto? etc.
