OK Guys i just got a SK II pre-paid and i was wondering if i run out of min. can i still use the internet and AIM and email without buying new min.??????? You help would be great

No. The SK2 prepaid plan works out to a dollar amount (as opposed to a bucket of minutes, like other prepaid systems do). The device deducts $1/day for network access, and whatever dollar (or cents, natch) amount you use for airtime. So when you "run out of minutes" you actually "run out of money" and as such your device won't work until you recharge it.

so you can have a 0 balance and still use text? doe that apply to just recieving or sending also? and is there now a 30 dollar refill card?

I just tried it (with a zero-balance predpaid device). You can send and receive text messages without having a balance.

nice but i think this should be erased b-4 tmobile gets wind of it and blocks it out

my thoughts would be like let say you had 1.30 left and the first thing in the morning you check email.they take that dollar away. now you use up the 30 cents on a two minute call, so you have no balance. since you have the whole day to use that data usage, you would still be able to text, surf and im since you already paid for that. that make sense?

Mat, the way I understand it, yes. The device only debits $1 a day at a specific time (overnight probably) so once you've "paid" for that day the device will work until it goes to deduct another dollar and cant. I just let my prepaid device expire to test out a few things, and that's how it appeared to work for me.

The specific time depends on when you first loaded $ onto your sidekick from a ZERO balance. Mine was always 7PM (I bought the sidekick around that time and loaded $ then) until I ran out of $ one time, and added $ around 2PM. Now, its 2PM everyday when $1 is deducted.

Say my phone is off for one day, will they still charge the $1 even though I didn't use it?

My contract ends the 10th of this month, and I want to use this as prepaid, not $30 monthly.

At my store, we sale them in amounts of $10, $20, $50, and $100. From time to time, I get people comming in freaking out because they can't get refill cards in amounts of $30 or $60. Well, get one $10 and one $20. That should do the trick.

Yes, they $1 gets deducted everyday unless your account has been reduced to 0.

how many days can it be a $0 balance until they close the prepaid account?

I think they hold your account for 45 days. Call customer care to find out for sure.
