V635 reception issues

I have no idea how to deal with this anymore. I've had the V635 phone since July. For the past 2 months when I dial a number is says "Calling", then "Connected" counting down the seconds, the person on the other end can hear me, but I ca't hear them. It does the same in the middle of a conversation.
And no, it's not my location, same places sometimes it works other times it just doesn't. It's either Cingular or my phone. Since this is the only way people can get in touch with me I am on the brink of going to Cingular and getting a V3 even though I do not like them at all and they have nothing that I could use. Any ideas? Please? Thank you

Sounds to me like a speaker issue then a reception since they can hear you and you can't hear them. Maybe the wire for the speaker is loose.

My V635 now has a similar problem that started last week. Before then reception was fine, I always had 4 or 5 bars, very rarely dropping down to 3 at home. Now at best I have 3 bars and its usually down to 1 and sometimes "no service". Whats strange is if I power cycle it I have 4 or 5 bars when it comes back on but after 10 to 20 seconds it drops back to 1 or 2 bars. I know its not my location my wife has a V551 and the reception on her phone has not changed, consistantly 4 or 5 bars.
If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.
