How To Tell If Your 703/903 Battery Is Fake

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

This is slighly old on ima-mobile, so my apologies if this has been posted here before. I stumbled upon it last night and decided to upload the pics to imageshack, since you need an account at ima-mobile to view them.

The fake battery is on the left.. real one on the right.

As you can see, aside from the colour, they're almost identical. There are two main differences:

1) The contact points have a small gap on either side of the FAKE one.
2) There is no "water mark" (that's how it translates) on the FAKE one.

Take a look at these pictures.. thet look so much alike except those two differences:

I hope everyone finds this to be useful information. Maybe this answers peoples' questions about why their phones don't charge properly.

Some shady sellers are suspected of taking out the real batteries and replacing them with these crap lookalikes. Buyers be cautious!

Good find. Man those copies are sooo good that they could have fooled me without knowing the original battery.

And what is the real difference in work?

that 'watermark paper' is used to check if the battery is dropped into water. it would change color if soaked in water.

this thing is quite commonly seen inside most Japanese electronic gadgets.

I don't know for sure, but we've all heard the horror stories about how some people try to charge their phone and the light goes on for a few seconds, then shuts off.

I assume it's problems with charging and doesn't last long, basically.

i have a fake 802/902 battery. its easy to tell because the japanese etext itself is flawed.

well that is if you can read it in the first place, which probably more than half the people can't...

I think u have a different type of fake battery.
The one showing in the photo above are exactly the same, the fake text is thicker than the original. I think the maker just scan in the original text and reprint them.
