I just got a V3 and this icon was not there, after flashing it I have a icon in the very top centre of my standby screen that looks like a phone handset with a 1 next to it.

What does it mean?

Line 1 Icon

Ok, so my next question is: what does "line 1 icon" mean?

"Line 1" means that the phone is currently set to use "Line 1" of the multiple phone lines that it is capable of using.

I believe this is for the "call waiting" feature, so you know by looking at the screen which "line" you are currently using.

Check your manaul for specifics.

Actually, it means that you're currently on line 1 of two. The V3 has the ability to handle two lines. This can be turned off using P2KTools.

Select 'Other Features'.
Click the 'Get' button at the bottom of the screen.
Now, click 'Other' between 'Alerts' and 'Recent Calls'.
Make sure the option "Settings > Phone Status > Active Line (Multi-Line Support)" is checked OFF.
Click 'Set' button at the bottom of the screen, then click the 'Restart' button at the top of the screen.

Unplug the phone, and that icon should disappear.

OK, so I installed two versions of P2K Tools from here:
http://www.motomodders.net/Default.aspx?tabid=77
and both completely refuse to recognize my phone.

My other programs all still "see" it, including P2KMan, but they will not.

Am I doing something wrong? Or is there a different/better version of P2K Tools I should be using?

That's the version I've been using. Have you tried plugging the USB cable into another port and then turning the phone off, and then on?

A different port worked.

You rock Cruisin, thanks a lot.

Glad it worked for you. A buddy at the office had a similar problem yesterday, so the "solution" (more of a suggestion) was still fresh in my little pea-brain.
