i was wondering, if you do save your ringtones on your memory card, is there anyway to make sure that the phone remembers which ringtones are assigned.

Every time i take out my card to add a ringtone, i have to re-assign them when i put the card back in.

It doesn't do that for me. Are you using BitPim to get phone ringtone data?

what i was doing was:

- putting my ringtones on my mini sd card in the 'ringers' folder
- opened up bitpm (with the phone on and the card inserted)
- get phone data ---> checked ringtones---> replace all
then
- send phone data ---> checked ringtones---> replace all

i have a miniSD reader & card.. is there a way to put ringtones on the memory card without the datacable?

no, bitpim is required to use mp3's as ringtones (bluetooth or cable). It is not possible any other way (unless you buy them through verizon).
