Hi All:

Just got myself a new unlock Sharp 903SH and wondering for all those who have been using this phone, does your screens appears to be "flickering".

What I mean is that the if you look at the screen closely, you see some "scan lines" flickering on and off? Hard to explain but kinda like those interlace scan lines on the TV??

Wondering if this is normal, if it is not, then off to refund I go...

Thx!

This is the first I've ever heard of that.

That doesn't happen to mine or any of my friends' 903s in any kind of way. The screen stays nice and steady. I'd suggest getting that refund, or do some kind of exchange.

Thx for the reply.

Yeah, I kinda find it strange too? Doesn't happen to the other phones that I have seen so far.

It is currently charging and I will check it out again and see if it continue to happen?

But, yeah, if it continue to function like that, I will return it to the store. (At least till next Monday since I will enjoy for the New Year)

NO. you're not the first person to see it. its really depends on the sensitivity of your eyes. i have many clients that can see flickering in the phone's lcd screen. but there are many of us that can not see it. I am one of the ppl who can not see the flickering.. but i probably have about 10-20 clients that try to point it out to me where the flickering is.. but i don't see it but they do. its natural. its not a glitch.. its just the way it tis. i guess your eyes are able to see the refresh rate

But he said it doesn't happen to other phones that he's used so far, so I'm thinking maybe his is messed up..

903s refresh rate isnt as good as the cg silicon ones on the 902. but the contrast is better on the 903. there are little flickers on certain color concentration like blue to black. its really small thoug, and if watchin a movie, you cant notice it.

i agree
just got a 903 today and coming straight from a 902...refresh rates def. not as good as i too can see slight flickering that i didnt in my 902...
but its minor

i could see the flickering on my z1010, boy did it start to bug the hell out of me. are you guys short sighted by any chance?

Posted by: Evo_jai

i had a 902 and now a 903, both i see "scan lines" when i look close to the screen,

Posted by: Timsta

definiitely a bit shortsighted.. but yah. i don't see lines lol. but various people do.

Ever so ever slightly. No one is going to be staring into their screen that closely.

I do notice some scan lines on the my 903 but it only appear sometimes.

If your eyes are tired, you might see it...
Same goes to your PC screen... once or twice, I could see it after overused the PC... X_x
Actually, I can see a bit of the flickering when I see the screen 170 degrees from a normal view...
Note: I don't wear glasses...

oh.. odd.. who knows. but for some ppl. the flickering is a real nuisance. i had one guy who noticed it right away after flashing but not before. making me think.. hrm.. does flashing make it flicker?

Posted by: evilgabbie

when the flash is not fully written sometimes or the readout is written @ different positions (ie not flashed 100%) it will cause flickering

on 802sh it's very apparent

on the 703 as well

most likely same quality screen but smaller physical screen than the 902/903

the 903 and 902 will flicker as well

if the flash some people use are older (sometimes not complete flashes) it will cause flickering

even though the refresh rate on the newer 903 might have lowered since teh 902 like some poeple have claimed it shouldn't be that noticable

try changing your wallpaper to the beachchair on the beach one

do you see flickering ? if you do its definitely a bad flash job
