Okay, I don't consider myself new in any way to computers and cellphones but I can't figure out how to set each contact to have a unique mp3 ringtone on my Razr. I've gone through the forums/wiki, I've searched the internet and my last resort is to post on the site. I've got P2K and Mobile Phone Tools installed. I've made custom ringtones from MP3s that I like. I've set the correct bitrates and put the mp3 in the 'sounds' folder. My RAZR just doesn't want to let me use an MP3 as a contact ringtone. I've got access to all the default midi/polyphonic tones but that's it. The ringtone plays and works as a general-ringtone for all calls. My really-really dumb question is can my RAZR even do custom-contact ringtones? If so, how? I have friends with other motorola (non-razr) phones and they seem to be able to do it. This seems like a basic feature of phones these days. So, anyone with a any advice, please help. Thanks in advance.

Make sure your contacts are stored on your phone and not just your SIM then assign a Caller ID to each contact in your phonebook. Also in each Ring Detail make sure Ringer ID is 'On.'

If you're using a BT headset then custom MP3 ringtones will not work.

My contacts are stored on the phone and the ringer ID is on but it still didn't work. I downloaded P2KTools 0.8.6 and ran "Fix MelodyDB", rebooted and now every thing is peachy. Thanks a lot for the help. I didn't know about the ringtones not working with bluetooth headsets, so that's good to know. Thanks a lot.

I have a Razr v3m from Verizon. And although I can download mp3's, the phone itself, and Verizon moreso, will not allow me to use them as ringtones. I have to pay Verizon $2.99 per ringtone to use their ringtones that they sell for one years use on their "Get it Now" area.

Weird, I have custom ringtones for each person I choose on my V3M phonebook. I use MPT and cut 30 second bits out of MP3's and then just save it to the phone, then select as a ringtone for each person. I must have 30 seperate ringtones and pics for each person lol.

You are foolish if you believe what you just said. If you are on this forum, there is MORE than enough info how to get free ringtones, better yet, custom made ringtones by none other than YOU
