I need the "Service center No."

and GPRS on yes or no?

these settings are listed in the "text messaging setup" menu. Please only reply if you are using Cingular in Maryland area near Wash. DC. Thanks!!!!

go to mesage center then highlite message Inbox, then press the middle menu key, then scroll down to highlite message setup and press select, then scroll down to txt msg Setup, then select change to reveal the txt message setup screen where this info is saved. (you have to cursor into the "service Center # scetion to see the entire phone # stored there) thanks.

Wow, good thing I looked at this. Ok here's the deal. First of all I own a Razr with Cingular and I live in Northern VA (Fairfax). I just bought a SLVR L7 off e-bay but it hasn't come in the mail yet. So basically I'm in the same predicament as you, except I have all the info that you/we need.

Ok, you said to go into message setup? well there is not Msg setup that I can see. However I do see Voicemail, Inbox, Email, and Outbox setup. Do you need the info to all of those to program into your Slvr? I need to know because I'm going to be doing the same thing and I don't want to have a Slvr with none of the proper setup info. Ok well I'll give you the Inbox and voicemail setup info, let me know if you need any more info.

Inbox setup:
inbox view:sender
srvce center #: +13123149810
cleanup:5 days
email gsateway:121
sms alert: on
use Gprs: no

voice mail:
voice mail #: +14106934248

With that said, I would appreciate it if you would please please get back to me on this. Do I need this info when I get my Slvr? Is there anything else I need to program into my Slvr since I'm on Cingular? PLEASE get back to me.

Thanks much.

Well the info is the same. I guess I was thrown by the area code 312 #

Anyway there's alot to do to make the L7 usefull. Check this info and threads:

unless you want a text message every time you get a voicemail, (import phone bug)
try this page for most of the instructions & links.

also:
Instructions:

1) get Motorola Phone Tools 4.04 update (I had to do this in MPT 3.4 since for some reason 4.04 was not backing up or restoring any of my contacts. To do this I had to manually install the phone with MPT 3.x as a V3. then backup and restore of contacts list worked.

2) Install update MPT 4.04 and backup all pics/sounds (inn multimedia studio) and contacts list bahiaeternal]Xgman any chance you can do a step by step on how to get rid of all the vodaphone crap off the phone. Im a total tart when it comes to this stuff. If you can't thats cool too, at least it can be done.

3) get the latest download of the L7 software (says German version, but has English) from http://www.gocellular.org/modules.p...e=CmodsDownload

4) get the most recent version you can find of Motorola RSD Lite ( I used 2.1.5 from Emule.

5) Install RSD lite and when it prompts you for drivers for the moto modem, direct it to c:\program files\common files\Motorola shared\motpcsdrivers\ and it will install the correct drivers for RSD.

6) In RSD lite, where it says "show file name", browse to the software update you downloaded from gocellular.org. The click on "Show Device" which should then recognize your L7. Then just click on "Start" and follow the prompts of flashing.

I think the key is doing all this in this order in order to get the appropriate drivers in place that Motorola phonetools will install with the latest 4.04 version on "live update"

good luck. Disclaimer: this worked for me. Do at your own risk.

Good luck.
