RAZR - Screen broken, phone works.

So my screen broke a while ago, but the phone still receives and dials out calls successfully.
The sound is fine.
Even the buttons on the top piece respond, however there is NO visual at all.

I was told that it was a faulty ribbon connector wire. I investigated further and the left hinge of the phone fell off and sure enough there was a ribbon wire that looked a little bent up.
The top of the screen also disconnected from the right side so it was almost in two. The only part was the ribbon connector.
I have had the phone for six months now or something, but I don't want to send it in to Cingular or Motorola as it is a waste of money and I need it within the week.
I was told there are companies that can fix it, but I also looked on ebay to find replacement RAZR pieces and they had it? Only problem would be installing it.

I am hoping to get some help from all of you, so thanks for reading and I trust my problem will be resolved due to the knowledgeable people in this community

If your phone is from Cingular and it is within the warrnty, I think you should send it for service, just bring the phone back to the store where you got it from and they should be able to help you to send it to warrnty free of charge, while I believe they also able to offer you a loaner phone (maybe free of charge or maybe cost some $$) but I still think that is safer than getting a replacment part from ebay and install it yourself.
