Razr V3c unauthorized charger problem with car charger?

I bought an aftermarket car charger for my Motorola Razr V3c phone, when I plug the phone into the charger, I get an error message on the phone reading "unauthorized charger". Can this phone only use motorola brand chargers? Also i had purchased two of these chargers and neither of them are working. Please let me know if anyone else has had this problem.
