Should I be worried about the frequencies we use around here? I mean I see people with SK2's all the time so I know they work around here but do I have to worry about it working for Cingular? I know that I wont be able to have data or internet or whatever but I figured I'd be fine as long as i can make calls and text..

If you're getting the one without the 850, you might not have the same coverage you do now.
Most of the people you see probably have the SKII being used on the T-Mobile.
If the phone is unlocked, you have decent 1900 coverage in your area, and you don't need the data feature, then go for it.

"IF" you get a SidekickII AND try to use it on Cingular, it won't function UNLESS it's unlocked. T-Mobile won't unlock ANY of their devices until you've had SERVICE with them for 90+ days.
To sum up, it won't work on Cingular because it's locked to T-Mobile. Even "IF" you had it unlocked, you would only be able to use the phone/SMS features. All other functionality goes through T-Mobile/Danger's servers. You would be carrying around a brick of a phone.

its totally not worth it.. u could be COOL.. but a big phone without the features isnt really cool now is it.
