LG LG U1880 Wallpaper/Background/Screen Theme

As Iv'e said in the title I have a LG U1880, whenever I go into my images and set a screen theme the picture never covers the whole of the screen, there is always a excess white screen arround the image. However when I set the start up screen or close down screen the image will cover the whole of the screen. Anyone know how to make an image cover the whole of the screen as a screen theme?
Any responses would be gratefull.
