Moto V635 EDGE --> GPRS???

I know that the specs on a v635 it has "EDGE" but is EDGE also Backwards compatable with "GPRS"....say if there was no "EDGE" service in my area??? will I still be able to use a GPRS signal??? but not at EDGE speeds???

Exactly it'll default to GPRS and GPRS speeds if there is no edge signal available.
