to bridge you cell phones with your voip service. It enables routing of your outbound cell calls through your voip service. On the downside it only works with GSM networks like Cingualr, AT&T, T-Mobile. I travel alot so all my voip calls are forwarded to my cell phone (free cell calls) and also all my outbound cell calls are routed through my Vonage box. (these are also free cell calls) I have two Cingular SIM Chips/numbers. One in my Cell phone one installed in the FX-300. The cell calls are free since Cingualr offers free network calling and the calls are all from on cingular number to my other cingular number.

i've heard of a system like this but that uses SMS. What i'd like is one where you can send an SMS to it with the number you want to call and it then calls you (perfect for unlimited incoming calls + outgoing sms plans). When you pick up ti then calls the number you want to call through your VoIP Adaptor. So, a fido user could have Unlimited Incoming ($25) and 1000 SMS ($10) and all their calls for free plus they could SMS their friends for free. This system also allowed you to call it and would never pick up but would instantly call you back and once you enter your password it gives you a dial tone via your VoIP Adaptor - perfect if you're company doesn't charge you if the recipient doesn't pick up or if you want to use your VoIP's unlimited/discounted long distance from work - i think Sprint USA PCS used to advertise it not counting if your recipient didn't pick up :?:

hi, i was wondering if you can just use this device for outgoing calls from your cellphone through the voip, or if another number could call your voip line and be directed automatically to your cellphone (through the on network sim). in other words, if someone called your voip number, would the call get directed through the sim card in the call director box?? or would it just be forwarded by way of your voip provider and thus cost minutes.....

If you have unlimited incoming - like I do - you can use a callback service to do outgoing calls.

I'm on Rogers. There are different providers out there. I've been using a callback service for 4 months with pretty decent voice quality - PRI/digital line quality, not only VoIP probably.

They are in Quebec but they offer the unlimited outgoing service Canada wide. Service is called mobilimax or something like that I think -> http://www.novoticplus.com

But they don't have unlimited international calls, only Cananda+US. It's quicker than sending an SMS, but the SMS approach is definitively a nice one for placing cheap international calls when outside the country.

But for $10 its the same as vbuzzer?
There's also yak callback that is PPU ($0.03/minute instead of $0.30/minute in regular phone)

Mobilimax is different than vbuzzer: flat fee and you get unlimited local and long distance calls with your cell. They also have a call-through service (dial tone right after dialing access number), for cellphones and landlines.

I'm going to give a little back and give this service the review it deserves.

Subscribed a while ago. PROS: Works great. Very decent flat fee for unlimited local and long distance calls, instant callback, very good voice quality, shows your callerID to called party, can block my callerID, saves me a lot on monthly cellphone bill - can finally avoid busting my monthly minutes and paying ridiculous 0.30$ extra minute to Rogers. No problems subscribing online and quick activation process.

CONS: Have to speed dial access number each time before placing a call. But can still do direct calls with minutes in my Rogers plan I'm anyhow paying for... I don't care, I use it for every call, just to make sure I'm not being charge one extra cent for extra airtime on my Rogers bill.

I took Canada plan, there's also a Canada+U.S plan - all come with unlimited outgoing local calls. A true money saver.

Anyone tried it also?

I subscribe to one of the callback service here in montreal, and I notice that the access numbers of mobilimax/novotics is the same as imctelecom, I guess mobilimax is a reseller of imctelecom. I prefer imctelecom or evoiphone since they have international calls too.

Judging by the websites, I would says novoticplus is the provider!

I got a service update email saying that they were also offering an international plan, and there site was going to advertise that during spring08. Maybe these companies are sharing the VoIP infrastructure maybe not. Anyhow the service is great at novoticplus - and as long as I save money with unlimited calls I don't really care who's who!

Ok, sorry about that but i'm a little confused... I have a home VOIP service here in the US with unlimited calling worldwide. Is it possible to have my cell phone connected to the home system? So that if someone calls me at home while i'm out, i can pick up with my cell phone for free? Please advise! Thanks

The problem I see with this is:

Minimum $32.45 for the second SIM card.
However much it is for the VOIP service (usually at least $10/month). This would be for Canada with Fido-Fido as Rogers doesn't have any Rogers-Rogers going on right now.

That's a total of $42.45/month extra.

Base plan cost with every GSM carrier here that offers something like that is $25. $25 won't get you very far. $25+$43 = $68. A $68/month plan can give you something very good. Koodo offers a $65/month plan with 1000 outgoing daytime minutes, unlimited incoming, and unlimited evenings and weekends after 7PM. Now, I talk a lot, 2000-5000 minutes per month (closer to 2000 without a girlfriend), and 1000 minutes, unlimited evenings & weekends and unlimited calling will have me covered. By virtue of most people having to work during the day, the brunt of calls will come in during the evening.

Solo and Fido both offer $40/month plans with 1000 minutes. Some people I know don't even come close to approaching that. It's very likely better to just get a more expensive cell plan with a bucket of minutes than to try something fancy like that. Now I've seen someone with 13,000 minutes per month who might be able to benefit, but his $2500 monthly phone bill was just a tax write off.
