SMT5600 under "profiles" it's stuck on Headset mode... help

Hey everyone...

I got this phone December 21st and so far I'm pretty happy with it. Haven't had any problems until today.
For some reason when I go under profiles, its stuck on the Headset setting. I am trying to select Normal, silent, meeting, outdoor and nothing is working. It's stuck on Headset!! I also tried resseting to default within the profile menu but no luck.
I shut the phone off, removed the battery but no luck. It's still stuck on that mode. When I plugged ear piece that came with this phone the profile mode changes to "Speakphone". Works fine and everything. When I remove the ear piece it goes back to "Headset".
Problem here is that the volume on my ringer is to low and I cannot increase it. So when I receive a call I can't hear the phone.
On the other hand if I play an MP3 song through Windows Media player it is very loud off the phone... So the speaker on the phone is fine...

FYI

I had to do a Hard Reset.... Everything is working ok now
