Josh's program is no longer needed to access mp3 ringtones from the mini SD card. The newest version of Bitpim does it all for you.

I purchased my data cable from Ebay and installed the drivers that came with the cable.

Next, I went to Walmart.com, Music, CD section. All the 30 sec clips of songs are in mp3 format. I saved the clips I wanted then I imported the clips one at a time into a free program called Audacity. Audacity allows you to make changes to the mp3, here is what I do to make the file smaller:

Select "File", "Open", choose your mp3.
Change the "project rate" (lower left side of screen) to 16000.
Select "Project", "Quick Mix" and mix the tracks.
Select the down arrow located to the left of your track, then select "Split Stereo Track".
Once you have a left and right track, delete one, I always delete left. You just select the "x" to delete the track, just like closing a window.
Now select the down arrow again and make the remaining track "Mono".
You are done. Select "File" and "Export Mp3".

As for how to use Bitpim, I followed the instructions that were listed in the help section of Bitpim. I am using the newest version, 0.8.04. Here they are:

Access Ringtones from a miniSD card:
Transferring files to the miniSD card through the phone using BitPim is very slow, users should transfer files to the card directly from a PC.

On the miniSD card, create a subdir called ringers
Copy your ringtone files to the ringers subdir.
Insert the card back into the phone and start BitPim.
Retrieve Ringtone data from the phone:
Menu Data -> Get Phone Data.
Check on Ringtone, and click on OK.
Write Ringtone data back to the phone:
Menu Data -> Send Phone Data.
Check on Ringtone and Replace All, and click on OK.
All of the ringtones stored on both the phone and the card are now available for assignment.
Step 3 through 5 should be repeated for all changes made to the ringers subdir.

One quick addition, after I have my mp3 saved, I rename it and change the extention to "mid" from "mp3". Its the only way the phone will recognize it as a ringtone.
