what is the highest bitrate the phone supports??
im making some mp3s now and would like to have best quality mp3s possible.

Anything above 64 won't really be noticable on the v3's speakers. 128 works, for sure. If it is the same as, say, the v635, then it should play 192 (sometimes) but the highest recomended is 160. I'm not sure for the V3 specifically.

i managed to get one 192 mp3 to fit but I deleted it becuase it took up the entire card. I keep mine at 32k.

motorola recommed a bitrate no higher than 64 (I also encode ringtones in Mono because it reduces file size and your phone only has one speaker too)

recommended settings by NineToez is between 32-64, converted to mono, 22khz.

I just spent some time experimenting with the best bitrate for our phone (Razr V3c) and noticed that 96Kbps is the best. On the phone you cannot tell a difference between 128 and 96 but when you drop to 64 it sounds like it playing through a little metal speaker (tiny tingy sound).

Plus the phone only rings about 20 secs before the Voicemail kicks in so I manage to crop songs at about 25 secs and convert to 96Kbps. This gives me only a 300Kb file. Good enough when the Razr is stated to have about 5MBs.

What is the maximum size for an mp3?
I dont want any audio lag or anything when I receive an incoming call.

I don't know. But I can tell you that when I first starting placing songs on my phone I didn't crop them. So the ringtone was the entire song which a full 5 min song in 128Kbps is about 3-4 MBs...and I didn't experience any lag.

The only lag I get is when I start navigating menus but I think that is because I have a 0.5 MB picture as my wallpaper and have 5 ringtones that are 0.3 MBs each.
