Will Cingular give me the Unlock code for my ATTWS Phone?

I have migrated to Cingular and am currently using a Cingular phone. I also have a Moto V551 locked to ATTWS and was wondering if Cingular could and/or would give me the unlock code for it so I can use it as my back up?

Nope, they wont i asked at least 5 reps including a few tier 2 reps they said its agaisnt their policy they said to contact ATTWS side, ATTWS side said the same thing they told me "to go on the internet and search on how to unlock it" and i believe u need a cable and software to unlock it

No they will not.

They will unlock it provided you been with Cingular for at least 90 days. Also when you request for the unlock code do not mention it is an ATTWS device. I told them I was going to travel overseas they were then then willing to unlock my AT&T Treo 650. They had just assumed it was Cingular device.
