SE Z520 Bluetooth Net access Apple OSX?

Can anyone tell me how to use my sony z520 as a bluetooth modem with apple OSX 10.3 (soon to be 10.4)

bluetooth preferences shows it as a bluetooth modem and when I use intenet connect it even has a cingular configuration with telephone number of *99***2# and username of guest and a password I can't see

but hitting connect shows an error dialog of unable to detect dial tone.

When prompted on the phone I gave my apple permission to use it as a modem always.

any pointers on setting this up?
