How do I make it update, new SK

I bought a sidekick tonight. I was playing with it and it said it needed to update. It did its thing and restarted and all was good. A few minutes later it said it needed to update again, it started its thing again but this time it said that it didn't load properly or something. Then it locked up and I had to reset it. Now I can not get it to sign in to anything and there is no signal, it says my sim is not in, and it deleted my pics.

I guess I need to get it to update again. Could someone tell me how?

Thanks

Call your carrier and get the device replaced. The 2nd over-the-air update didn't take. T-Mobile should cover this for a device replacement even if you're out of warranty.

Thanks. I called them and they are replacing it tomorrow. I was hoping there was a way I could get it to try again.

No, I got someone within a couple of minutes and they transfered me to a tech guy within a minute or two who had me look at a couple of things on the device and then told me I needed to bring it to the store and swap it out. I called the girl at the store that I bought it from and she had one waiting for me when I got there and that took all of 5 minutes. The new one is working great.

The phone call to T-Mobile was much faster and more courteous than the ones I have to make from time to time with Cingular. If their coverage was better in my area I would consider switching my phones over to them.

u musta been within your two week grace period, my furry liddle friend....this is blissful time in which tmo will been over backwards and perform various awe inspiring acrobatics to lock u n to a contract/keep ur business.....once ur current sidekick malfucntions, alas, u will not be able to return it 2 the store 4 a shinny new sk2. this, my friend, is where the saga begins.....

Don't let some of the detractors get you down - I left Cingular after 14 *years* of service because the customer support (and the knowledge of the CS reps) at T-Mobile was SO MUCH BETTER than Cingular.

T-Mo has 24 hour customer service, so you have usually pretty bad hold times calling them peak hours. When I've needed a rep, I usually call late evening and have no hold times. I once called for an account issue at like 3am in the morning and had a nice long chat with the CSR who I think was bored at the time.
