News Ticker in V3i?

Does anyone know how to enable the Media Net News Ticker in the new Motorola V3i that's available? I've given up trying to find one with iTunes, so in checking the ones with the Motorola Digital Audio Player, they're supposed to have the Screen 3 technology, however I've yet to see how to turn this feature on. A friend of mine got the non iTunes version of this phone, and there's no mention of the "ticker" in the instruction manual, and we can't seem to find where this feature is buried. Anyone having any luck with this?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

The Screen 3 is there...its just that the carrier isn't sending any "Screen 3 content". Think of it as client/server...the carrier (the server) has to create a news feed that the phone (client) picks up. It has yet to be seen whether the software will be released to create your own WAP Screen 3 news feeds.

So, is that to say when you put in a Cingular SIM card in one of these phones, you're still not going to get the news ticker? My friend has both a V557 and the V3i and is using both on Cingular's network, however only the V557 gets the ticker screen, even though both phones are supposed to have the "Screen 3" technology.

According to Cingular's web info, the V557 is the only phone that has the app. pre-loaded. I'm thinking this is like AIM which required some hacking to be enabled on unbranded phones.

Does your friend's V3i show the MEdai Net page properly?

I can connect but that page is crippled. "Go to URL" works so I know I'm online. I'm on Cingular (Orange) in So. Ca.

Graeme, I just got this info from Cingular Data Support. Try this, and let me know if it works for you.

Unfortunately, this doesn't work. Spent two hours today trying to configure the web and screen 3 with no luck. Anyone who has this phone know how to get the web (on Cingular's network) and the Media Net ticker up and running?

if you get the funny page that says device.home#__card2 just hit select to go to the next page. should display fine, then shortcut it. still won't have ticker
