I downloaded the Opera mini application to my Razr yesterday, I like it thus far but was wondering in terms of data how much more does it use vs. regular MEdia net? Any recommendations as far as a data plan? I currently have the Works package which has 5 MB. Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks!

I have the same plan and the same phone using Opera Mini. Setup OM to not load images and you'll be surprised how much browsing you can do on 5MB a month. I usually burn about 1 and half megs in a month browsing just about every day without images on. Also, the more images the phone loads the faster you'll kill the battery - another reason not to have them on.

Ditto here, I guess I shouldn't have been, but I was amazed the first time to see a full blown website on my phone. I think Opera is great for those times that you need to access a full blown site, but aren't near a computer. Thanks for the advice keiri, should have figured that out earlier as I burned 1.5M visiting the Yahoo homepage LOL. Doesn't really apply to Cingular, but does anyone think that a carrier would drop your data plan if you were using Opera on an unlimited data plan?

The carrier reserves the right to cancel your data plan whenever they want, but they cannot charge you a per/kb rate if you are on unlimited.

I'm using PIE and Opera Mini on my 2125 and used up about 170mb so far this month (for me the month started on the 28th). This is only browsing on the phone, no Skype or IM, syncing with 2 email accounts. I do not tether at all (haven't tried, don't really need it).

I'm digging Opera mini thus far. I am surprised at how fast it is ... but, then again I haven't had EDGE in months so I'm not sure if it's that or the new phone. It's a nice change of pace to surf the web on my phone almost exactly like I do on my PC, albeit on a much smaller screen. Heh. But, this is allowing me quite a bit of freedom wirelessly that I didn't know I could have with a phone. I'm enjoying it.
