I just received the data cable and I'm trying to understand how to set the telephone to send faxes and connect to the internet.
I managed before to send faxes before via Irda setting the phone to "sync data". But now with the cable how do I set the phone? I tried "sync data " but no success.
Any suggestions?

Why should the IR menu apply to the data cable?
Just don't do anything with the phone. Plug the cable and start your application.

I tried just attaching the cable and no setting the Irda sync data menu but when I start the application it is not finding the modem on the phone???!!!!

Then you probably didn't select the right COM port.

The port is correct too but it just doesn't find the modem (phone).
It seems that the drivers for the modem (phone) are only for Irda connection. Any idea?

Nope. Since COM port communication is standardized the drivers don't care what the transmission way is. If it worked with IR before then it should work wit cable, too. There must be something wrong with the plugs or the port settings. Be aware that IR uses another (virtual) COM port than cable.
