I'm not sure if I should get a 512MB or 1GB memcard for my 903.

I'll probably have a drama(300MB)/anime(180MB) episode or two, maybe a few mp3s(4MB), and the rest of the space will be for storing the pictures and videos.

Pictures on max resolution and Super-Fine settings take up around 700-850kb in my experience.

The reason why I'm asking is because I saw Advent Children converted to ASF format for the phone and the 4 parts came out to a total of around 250MBs, which is a lot less than what I thought it'd be (600MB).

I'd like to know what the vets of this board think or what size memcard they have.

Also, what's the cheapest place to get miniSDs?

Go for the 1GB card. They are not expensive. I just ordered one (the Kingston) for about $70 with free shipping (to Hawaii), and it works great.

1GB. I have one and I love having all the room. You think ah 512 is plenty but think about it, you have double that and hardly pay more. It's worth it for me.

For me, 512MB card ($35) and 1GB cards ($75) are pretty proportional in size so it's not a question of value.

I know this is probably a forum of hardcore phone users but what do you guys have or plan to have on that memcard that you need 1GB of space?

Converted video and movie files are only about 45% of the originals' file size, am I right?

I do agree with all...Get the 1GB instead of the 512MB.Actually I was thinking of getting a 2GB memory card but I don't think i will be able to make use of all the space so I only got myself a 1GB memory card. I think that would be sufficient. In the end, it really depends on your usage,really...

I got the 512MB when I got the phone - and regret it. Always out of space.. Even 1GB is too small for a bunch of mp3s...

I checked a bunch of local places in Markham - none seem to carry over 512MB. Anyone know of a place - or an online shop that ships to Canada without killing us with inflated shipping charges?

bigger is better...go for the 2gb!

honestly though...i find 1gb sufficient...but that's just my opinion.

Can the 903 take any brand memcards or only known namebrands? And I thought 1GB is the biggest size the phone can take?

Can anyone confirm that a 2GB miniSD definitely works with the 903? Because if it does I may consider getting one. I'm still running off the original 64MB card and I wanna put more music on my card already

The only place I fond a 2G miniSD is Ebay and it doesn't look good. I just ordered a 1G miniSD from zipzoomfly for $67 free 2nd air best price i can find for it.

do you really have time to just sit there and watch the movies?

i had a 512 and i put a movie, some music videos, and some songs...i never found myself watching the full movie...ocasionally i'll watch the music videos though...

Well, I have frequent rides in a bus to long distances, and there really isn't much you can do but sit there and enjoy the multimedia features of the phone 8D.

But yeah, the bus rides are so long, that I can watch whole movies haha.

But not everyone gets on hour long bus rides, so I guess a 1G would be nice too.

I think 200 CAD for the 2GB miniSD is a little too much. I think I'll just get another 1 GB and call it a day. I listen to music and use this miniSD for general store for school so I could use the space. It's like my iPod replacement (Sorta) lol

1GB is all you need. those go for about 70USD. i could put like 4 30 mins anime episodes and a full 2 hour movie, and about 80 mp3s on my miniSD.

yep...show episodes make more sense to me...i can watch a episode of family guy...i have time for that...but staring at the phone for a 2 hour movie is just too long.

also i noticed that the 903 gets warm when watching video continuously

my k-jam never got warm when watching movies...does the 903 really need that much power to read from the mini-sd?

I think its the card reader too..

Normal usage (calling, etc.) doesnt make it warm..

So anyone here has confirmation that 2gb mini-SD works on our 903's? Cuz i am getting the samsung one pretty soon but dont want to waste money like everyone else and get something that doesnt work!
