Is there anyway I can wire my cell into my car stereo (like as a speakerphone) without buying those FM things? I have an aftermarket Alpine HU with aux inputs and an 8390 phone. How/is it possible to use the headset jack at the bottom? TIA

Anything is possible, it may not be able to be ran through the aux port or the rca input, but you may be able to jerry rig something up. I have an 8260, and have been thinking the same thing... Takin a normal headset, slitting the wires, running one to a mic that would be attached to my visor, and one to my stereo, but then I thought, how would I pull it up, since I don't havfe an aux port. I have a Clarion deck that's a few years old, and still am pondering how to do it. Everytime I try, I hit a brik wall... My latest thought was to run it through the rca input, but then I'd need to run it to an amp, and all that good stuff. The aux port MIGHT work if you did it right.

Okay from what I know this is possible, their is one easy way to do this, If you have a "AUDIO INTERRUPT IN" on your deck, then you just wire your cell to this, however if not, it becomes difficult.
Hope this helps in one way.

DUDE!!!!! You don't know how much that helped! You just solved my problem, AND saved me alot of money lol!!! Yes, it has an audio interrupt, I would have NEVER thought of that...thanks a million dude! Question then:
How to wire it exactly? I have the cheapo handsfree set (it is the earpiece and the microphone that you plug into the 2.5mm headset jack). Do I just cut off the earpiece, splice the wire into the Audio Interrupt lead, and position the microphone in a good place? TIA

i think that all this is wrong.from my understanding all the audio interrupt does is mute whatever your listening to when your phone rings.now for what you guys want to do its not as simple as you guys think.you guys aren't thinking about the speakers and how it'll echo to the person on the other phone.he will hear himself talk.you need some kind of device to mute the microphone while theres sound coming out of the car speakers kind of like a walkie talkie or speakerphone.well if you guys do figure this out post a how-to for the rest of us.good luck
