Need a new LCD

Cracked my display on New Years (or at least I assume it was me). So when I called Fido (local Toronto provider), they quoted my $250 for the screen.
There has to be a cheaper alternative. Ebay has a bunch of them that are perfectly functional, for cheaper than that. I was wondering if there is some way to go to the manufacturer and act as an indepentant reseller or something along those lines to get a wholesale price on the screen.
Any ideas on any way to get this replacement part?
Thanks.

No. The LCD panel is manufactured by Sharp and it's an internal part (meaning that it's not distributed outside of Sharp). You can't act as any sort of reseller to get a wholesale price on the screen because wholesale pricing isn't available - heck, *retail* pricing is hard enough... Fido is, as far as I know, the only carrier that offers screen replacements at ALL.

I know of a customer who got a quote from Audiovox (now called UTS Starcomm) for the replacement price for the LCD, the replacement price was a little higher than fidos price too, but you cant just drop by and pick it up, you most likely have to send out your phone to them they will quote and/or replace it
