Odd issues with 8910 software

I just got my new cdm-8910 yesterday and it seems new, but I'm not sure about some things after I've played around with it for a while.

The main issue I've noticed is with the camera. When changing resolution the heightxwidth doesn't change until I leave the screen and come back (taking a picture and pressing clr will do it). The zoom label behaves the same way. Thirdly, I have no idea what the brightness setting looks like, because it doesn't appear when I choose that option. I notice no changes when moving the arrow keys, but can't do anything else until I hit ok or clr.

Even if there were newer software, where would I find it and how would I get it onto my phone?

Does anyone else experience these issues? My phone is on the verizon network, but it came with a us cellular manual, and has a get it now button, and alltel wap proxy settings (Originally).

I'm going to keep reading the forums, after spending about a day on it.

when you select brightness, look in the TOP of your screen... it should be there...

Take your phone to your verizon store, and ask them to flash it... but you have the latest software (the time and date is the first time it was turned on...)

The top of the screen doesn't change when I select brightness, if anything a picture of a camera w/ a blue lense appears in the top left corner. I can't switch to Gallery or anything until I hit ok or clear after that.

Thanks for letting me know about the date, it's interesting I bought the phone "new" on ebay and it was last turned on in 04. I have a suspicion the ebay dealer flashed it with something before sending.

I can live with these minor issues as long as the phone part works.
