Ringtones from computer

I want to get ringtones (from my computer; downloaded) on my phone. It's a Kyocera KX1. I have the Desktop Tools version 2.2.2, but it says my phone isn't supported. Anyone have a download to a version that supports my phone?

Kyocera Phone Desktop (KPD) 3.2 is compatible with the KX1. Look around the forum and you'll find it. Sometimes it doesn't detect the phone at startup (at least with this cheap cable, maybe the original Kyocera cable doesn't have this problem). But then I just go to File->Preferences->Auto-Detect Phone.

Also, if you want to make your own ringtones out of wav or mp3 files, get CMX Studio.

Okay, I downloaded BitPim because I couldn't find a download of 3.2. But BitBim is telling me "Failed to auto-detect the port to use.". I have the phone plugged into USB with the cable I bought. So I checked drivers. I bought the product "USB Data Cable Bundle, Kyocera SoHo, KX1 phones" q

So I checked drivers. I bought the product "USB Data Cable Bundle, Kyocera SoHo, KX1 phones", Model LGXBU096. But on the drivers page, it doesn't list my model. http://www.kyocera-wireless.com/soho-phone/drivers.htm

I'm pretty sure I installed the drivers a while ago though. How can I check what COM it's on?

[EDIT] I tried selecting the COM in use, but I got the error "Could not open port: (5, 'CreateFile', 'Access is denied.')

I never used BitPim. I'll look around here, maybe I still have a link to KPD.

http://64.185.230.30:8080/kmd/KPD.rar is version 2.2.2 which I can't use.

http://rapidshare.de/files/8361567/Setup.rar.html is Wireless Phone Support Toolkit, which I am not looking for.

http://rapidshare.de/files/8854112/..._3.3.4.rar.html is PhoneTools, which I already have.

http://grabtv.bizland.com/public/kyocera/KPDsetup.exe is a broken link.

Gee... I think I got it from that grabtv link. Sorry mate. I'll let you know if I find another link.

Posted by: ReSeph

If anyone has this, could they upload it to http://www.rapidshare.de for me?

Posted by: VMat

Have you tried the update from Kyocera? There is a *.reg file somewhere in the forum that allows you to run that update without installing the previous version.

Another option if the Kyocera app isn't working for you and you can't upload it - I just noticed ToneThis went free - does the same thing...

Posted by: ReSeph

My phone is not listed on the supported phones for ToneThis.

Could I get a link to that .reg file? I'll search around while I'm waiting.
